Live Room Rules

These rules apply to the official Melanin Kronicles website live room, the creator control room, screen sharing, and private viewer messages. They are practical site guidance, not legal advice; applicable law and platform policies can vary by location.

Effective September 19, 2026

What this room is

The official live destination is melaninkronicles.org/live. Social profiles may invite people here, but the website is the viewing destination. A session can be delayed, interrupted, or ended without notice. The current room is a live viewing feature, not a promise that a recording or replay will be available.

Age and mature-content notice

Melanin Monsters is intended for audiences 17+ and may include violence, strong language, or other mature themes. This service is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit a child's name, voice, image, or other personal information through the live room. If you learn that a child under 13 has sent personal information, contact us using the support information associated with your account or receipt so the information can be reviewed and deleted where required.

Conduct and safety

  • Be respectful. No harassment, hateful abuse, threats, intimidation, or targeted attacks.
  • No sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual content, or sexual solicitation.
  • No doxxing, identity theft, phishing, fraud, scams, spam, or attempts to disrupt the room.
  • Do not use the message form to share passwords, addresses, payment details, medical information, or another person's private information.
  • Do not use the live room to facilitate illegal goods, dangerous conduct, or harm.

Messages and moderation

Viewer messages are private notes to the creator, not a public chat. The creator may choose not to respond or may end a session when safety, rights, or abuse concerns arise. Messages may be reviewed for safety, support, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Use the message form during an active session to report a safety or rights concern, but do not include sensitive personal or payment information.

Camera, microphone, and screen sharing

A creator should start camera, microphone, or screen sharing only after checking the preview. Once the public live begins, selected audio, camera, and screen content can be seen or heard by viewers. Close private windows, hide passwords and notifications, and check other people's consent before they appear. The creator is responsible for the content they send and for stopping the live if private or unsafe material becomes visible.

Copyright and music

Share only artwork, video, music, images, software, and other material that you own or are licensed or otherwise authorized to use. A website live room does not grant a license to rebroadcast another person's music, film, sports, stream, or copyrighted artwork. See the U.S. Copyright Office Section 512 guidancefor the general notice-and-takedown framework; formal rights questions should be handled through appropriate legal or business support.

Sales and commercial transparency

This live room may show or promote the creator's own Melanin Kronicles comic and a purchase link. Claims about products, prices, access, or results must be truthful and not misleading. Any paid sponsorship, gifted product, affiliate relationship, or other material connection should be disclosed clearly in the live and in the related social post. The FTC's disclosure guidancerecommends clear disclosures in live streams, repeated when viewers may join late.

Social-platform boundary

TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, and other platforms are announcement channels only for this website-first setup. Their community, commercial-content, copyright, age, and disclosure rules still apply to anything posted or streamed there. Linking to this website does not bypass those rules. For TikTok, use its current content-disclosure controls when marketing your own product or another brand; review the TikTok commercial-activity guidancebefore posting.

Accessibility and viewer expectations

The player includes controls and a text status for the live connection. This room does not automatically generate live captions, so the creator should use available device or browser captioning and provide important information in visible text or an accessible recap when possible. The W3C WCAG 2.2 guidanceidentifies captions for live audio as an accessibility consideration.

Privacy and policy links

Read the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Refund Policy before purchasing. The privacy policy explains how live-room messages and connection data are handled. If you have a privacy, purchase, or rights request, use the support information on your account or payment receipt.
